A 35-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a series of stabbing incidents in Vancouver’s Yaletown area last October. Tamara Hamelin was apprehended on October 10 after three individuals were hospitalized with minor injuries. Subsequently, four more victims came forward, comprising another stabbing victim, an individual reportedly assaulted, and two unharmed persons. The victims, encompassing five men and two women aged between 23 and 59, were targeted near David Lam Park along Vancouver’s Yaletown seawall segment. The assaults, described by the authorities as violent and unprovoked, occurred at that location.

Following the incidents, Hamelin faced four counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of assault. She confessed to the charges at Vancouver’s Downtown Community Court on December 16 and is currently in custody, as confirmed by the B.C. Prosecution Service to CBC News. Court records indicate that Hamelin is scheduled for sentencing on March 31.
