Parekh scored a goal and an assist, bringing his total to 13 points, surpassing the previous record of 12 points held by Bryan McCabe and Alex Pietrangelo. Despite this achievement, Parekh expressed disappointment in not winning the gold medal, which he deemed the ultimate goal.

Parekh, who had earlier made comments about the importance of showing personality in media interactions, later apologized for any misunderstandings and stated that his intention was not to cause any harm. The young player acknowledged the need to be accountable for his words and expressed regret to his team and the Flames organization.

In the bronze medal game against Finland, Canada emerged victorious with a 6-3 win. Gavin McKenna stood out with a goal and three assists, contributing to Canada’s strong performance. Michael Hage also impressed with four assists, finishing the tournament with a total of 15 points. Despite the team’s disappointment in not winning gold, they showcased resilience and teamwork in securing the bronze.

The tournament saw Sweden clinch the gold medal by defeating the Czech Republic 4-2 in the final. It was Sweden’s third world junior hockey title, with goals from Casper Juustovaara and Viktor Eklund sealing their victory in an all-European final.

As the world junior hockey championship concluded, Canada reflected on their journey with both pride and a tinge of disappointment, emphasizing the camaraderie and memories made throughout the tournament.
