“Apple Rumored to Unveil Enhanced Siri with Third-Party Chatbots”

Technology"Apple Rumored to Unveil Enhanced Siri with Third-Party Chatbots"

Apple is rumored to introduce an updated version of Siri with iOS 27, potentially powered by Google’s Gemini models. There are speculations that Apple might offer more options to users, including the ability to utilize third-party chatbots within Siri.

A report from Bloomberg suggests that Apple could unveil a new feature called Siri Extensions, enabling users to run third-party chatbots like Anthropic’s Claude within Siri. Users may access these extensions through a dedicated AI App Store, expanding their capabilities.

In a strategic move, Apple seems focused on leveraging its hardware advantage rather than competing directly with industry leaders like Google and OpenAI in the AI race. This approach may involve creating a specialized AI section within the App Store to facilitate connections between third-party AI services and Siri, potentially leading to increased revenue through commissions.

Despite facing challenges in developing its own AI models and experiencing talent departures to competitors like OpenAI, Apple recently secured a significant deal to integrate a Gemini-powered Siri, codenamed Campo, set to debut at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 8, 2026.

While the revamped Siri is expected to offer enhanced functionalities for completing tasks and retrieving information, iPhone users may have to wait for the iOS 27 release, coinciding with the launch of the next generation of iPhones in fall 2026. Additionally, Apple is reportedly exploring the concept of a standalone Siri app to enhance user interaction, possibly resembling popular chatbots like ChatGPT or Gemini.
