“Punjab’s AAP-Led Govt Fills 65,000 Jobs in ‘Employment Revolution'”

National"Punjab's AAP-Led Govt Fills 65,000 Jobs in 'Employment Revolution'"

The Punjab government, led by the Aam Aadmi Party, disclosed that a total of more than 65,000 government jobs have been filled during the past four years through what they refer to as an “Employment Revolution.” Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann highlighted this achievement as a significant advancement in promoting transparent and merit-based recruitment practices within the state.

The party’s Punjab unit revealed that a sum of 65,264 government positions has been distributed across various departments without any allegations of corruption or bias. The education sector saw the highest number of job creations with 16,308 positions, followed by 12,966 in the Punjab Police and 8,306 in the electricity department.

Additional recruitments encompassed 6,176 roles in health and medical education and 5,556 in local government bodies, among others. Mann, while addressing the media, reiterated the government’s dedication to ensuring fair hiring processes.

He emphasized that the recruitment procedures were conducted transparently, with candidates being selected based on merit without any exchange of money or favoritism. Mann highlighted that the initiative has benefitted youth from both rural and urban areas, encouraging them to focus on competitive exams within the state rather than seeking opportunities abroad.

Furthermore, Mann pointed out that age restrictions for several positions were relaxed by up to five years to accommodate individuals who missed earlier opportunities due to delays during previous administrations. Criticizing past governments, Mann accused them of frequently delaying recruitment processes, resulting in many candidates aging out of eligibility.

In contrast, Mann emphasized his administration’s commitment to fairness and efficiency in the recruitment process. He mentioned that some candidates have progressed to higher positions after securing better opportunities through competitive exams, illustrating a dynamic employment environment.

This announcement is expected to serve as a significant talking point for the ruling party, showcasing its governance achievements, particularly in job creation, as the state gears up for future electoral contests.
