Sony is set to release a new premium headphone model named “Sony The ColleXion” as part of their 1000X series. The launch is anticipated to take place in the latter half of the upcoming month, potentially on May 19. Earlier this year, Sony introduced the Sony WF-1000XM6 true wireless earbuds, while the flagship Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones were launched last year. Alongside the ColleXion range, Sony may introduce a new Sandstone color option for the WH-1000XM6 headphones.

According to information shared by Billbil-kun from Dealabs, the expected price for the Sony The CollecXion is around EUR 629 in Europe, equivalent to approximately Rs 68,033 in India. Details regarding the design and features of these headphones are currently undisclosed, although they are anticipated to be wireless over-ear devices.

The WH-1000XM6 headphones are designed with a closed over-ear form factor and have a weight of roughly 8.96 ounces. They are equipped with a 1.18-inch driver unit featuring a neodymium magnet, offering a broad frequency response range of 4Hz to 40,000Hz (JEITA) for detailed and immersive audio quality.

For connectivity options, the headphones support both wired and wireless usage. They come with a detachable single-sided cable measuring approximately 3.94 feet and a gold-plated L-shaped stereo mini plug. When used wirelessly, they are compatible with advanced audio codecs such as SBC, AAC, LDAC, and LC3, utilizing Bluetooth 5.3 with a range of up to 10 meters.

Moreover, the headphones feature multipoint connection capabilities, enabling users to connect to multiple devices simultaneously. Additional functionalities include DSEE Extreme audio enhancement, ambient sound mode, and adaptive noise cancellation with atmospheric pressure optimization and automatic ambient adjustments.

In terms of hardware specifications, the headphones incorporate a MEMS omnidirectional microphone for calls. The battery performance is noteworthy, providing up to 30 hours of playback with noise cancellation activated and up to 40 hours without it. For calls, users can enjoy up to 24 hours of usage with noise cancellation on. The battery is fully rechargeable in approximately 3.5 hours via USB.
