Investors opted to reduce their exposure amidst the uncertainty rather than carry positions in a volatile environment. The recent market rally was primarily driven by short covering and value buying, especially in the financial sector. Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Investments Limited, highlighted the fading ceasefire optimism and the impact of geopolitical tensions on crude oil prices. He emphasized that sustained high crude oil prices could lead to earnings downgrades for FY27.
Analysts anticipate continued market volatility in the near term, closely linked to developments in West Asia and fluctuations in crude oil prices. Despite the recent rally, uncertainty persists, emphasizing the need for caution in the current market environment.
