U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin had agreed to consider his offer to participate in Trump’s Board of Peace initiative, which aims to address global conflicts. Trump revealed this information to reporters at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, following a meeting with NATO chief Mark Rutte.
However, shortly after Trump’s proclamation, Putin informed the Russian security council that the foreign ministry was still reviewing the proposal and would provide a response in due time. Trump justified his decision to include Russia in the initiative by stating his desire for all nations, especially those led by influential figures, to be involved.
Acknowledging the controversial nature of some of his selections, Trump emphasized that he values individuals who are capable of getting results and possess significant sway over international affairs.
