“US-Iran Talks in Pakistan End Without Deal”

World"US-Iran Talks in Pakistan End Without Deal"

After extensive discussions lasting over 20 hours and reaching various points of agreement, the negotiations between the United States and Iran in Pakistan concluded without a deal. President Donald Trump attributed the breakdown of talks to Iran’s primary focus on financial demands and nuclear aspirations. These talks represented the first direct interaction between the two countries in more than ten years following a two-week ceasefire intended to facilitate diplomatic efforts.

Trump, through posts on Truth Social, highlighted the core issues that led to the stalemate in negotiations. He emphasized Iran’s insistence on financial support and nuclear pursuits, which he deemed incompatible with American objectives. Furthermore, he issued a strong warning to Tehran, stating that the US military stood prepared to take decisive action if necessary.

In contrast, Iranian officials placed the blame for the failed negotiations on the lack of trust in the commitments made by the US. Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Iran’s Parliamentary Speaker, expressed disappointment in Washington’s failure to instill confidence despite what he described as positive proposals from Iran.

Although the talks did witness some progress with several areas of agreement, Trump underscored that the critical issue of nuclear capabilities remained unresolved. He reiterated the US stance against Iran possessing nuclear weapons and criticized Iran’s unwavering position on this matter.

Alongside the breakdown in negotiations, Trump announced plans to implement a blockade in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. He warned of severe consequences for any hostile actions by Iran at sea, emphasizing the US Navy’s readiness to enforce the blockade. Trump accused Iran of employing naval mine threats to disrupt global shipping, labeling it as “WORLD EXTORTION” and underscoring the erosion of trust during the talks.

Responding to the blockade, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards asserted their control over the vital waterway, cautioning potential adversaries against any provocative actions. They affirmed that all traffic in the strait was under their complete supervision, signaling a robust response to any perceived threats.
