An FIR was filed against two Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) spokespersons, Priyanka Bharti and Kanchana Yadav, by the Gautam Buddha Nagar cyber police station. The complaint alleged that the duo shared a misleading video on their social media platforms, falsely connecting it to the recent workers’ protests in Noida that caused unrest in Delhi-NCR.
Accusations were made against Bharti and Yadav for intentionally spreading misinformation and disrupting law and order by sharing a video showing police arresting and assaulting an intoxicated man. Although the video was from Madhya Pradesh, the spokespersons claimed it was from the Noida protests, sparking outrage among the public.
Additionally, an FIR was filed against an individual with the Twitter handle @ItsKtyni and a Facebook profile named Jitendra Sharma Dausa for also sharing a video from Madhya Pradesh while misleadingly asserting it was related to events in Noida.
The FIR revealed that Jitendra Kumar Dausa posted a video on Facebook falsely claiming it was from Noida, with the caption inciting anger towards the police. Similarly, @ItsKtyni on Twitter shared a video titled “This is the Noida Sector 62 now,” depicting a fire incident, although the location was not in Gautam Buddh Nagar.
Further investigations by the police confirmed that the video in question dated back to April 11, 2026, showing a youth causing disturbance while intoxicated in the Budhar police station area of Shahdol district, Madhya Pradesh.
