Lucknow Super Giants’ Nicholas Pooran is under scrutiny from former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who suggests a potential replacement by Australian cricketer Josh Inglis if Pooran fails to improve his batting performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Pooran, known for his explosive batting prowess, has struggled this season, managing only 41 runs in four innings at a sluggish strike rate of 85.41. Pathan highlighted Pooran’s lackluster form, emphasizing the need for a quick turnaround to avoid being sidelined in favor of Inglis, who is yet to join the team due to personal commitments.
Inglis, a talented wicketkeeper-batter, is expected to bring depth to the team once he joins the squad. The management of Lucknow Super Giants acknowledges the challenges faced by their overseas players, branding them as ‘sleeping giants’ poised to awaken and deliver impactful performances when needed. The team will be banking on their overseas talents to excel in upcoming crucial matches, including the encounter against Punjab Kings following their clash with Royal Challengers Bangalore.
