Kendrick Lamar also had a remarkable night, taking home five Grammy awards, including record of the year for his collaboration with SZA on the track “luther.” With these wins, Lamar has now surpassed Jay-Z as the most awarded rapper in Grammy history, boasting a total of 27 wins.

Lady Gaga had a successful evening as well, winning four Grammys for her album “Mayhem” and her hit single “Abracadabra.” These wins included best pop vocal album and best dance pop recording. Gaga’s Canadian producer, Cirkut, also had a share in the victory, receiving two awards, including producer of the year in the non-classical category.

Billie Eilish secured the award for song of the year for the third time with her track “WILDFLOWER,” which she co-wrote with her brother Finneas. The best new artist title went to British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean.

Despite multiple nominations, Justin Bieber left empty-handed but delivered a performance of his song “YUKON” from his nominated album “Swag.” Joni Mitchell, the Canadian music legend, celebrated a win for best historical album with her compilation “Joni Mitchell Archives, Volume 4: The Asylum Years — 1976-1980.”
