Bo Bichette and the New York Mets recently concluded a three-year, $126 million contract on Tuesday evening. The agreement was reached the prior week, pending a successful physical examination. Opting to join the Mets over the Philadelphia Phillies, Bichette was officially introduced by the team at a press conference held at Citi Field on Wednesday.
In detail, Bichette will receive a $40 million signing bonus due on March 15, a $2 million salary for the current year, and has player options totaling $42 million for 2027 and 2028. Should he opt out of either year, a $5 million buyout will be provided, disbursed in $1 million increments annually from 2036 to 2040.
