Canadian snowboard cross team for the upcoming Milano-Cortina Games features Éliot Grondin and Meryeta O’Dine, both Olympic medallists.
Canada Snowboard and the Canadian Olympic Committee revealed the roster of 13 athletes set to compete in snowboard cross, half pipe, and parallel giant slalom events at the Games in a joint announcement on Thursday.
Grondin, the current men’s snowboard cross world champion and two-time World Cup Crystal Globe winner from Sainte-Marie, Quebec, claimed a silver medal in the event at the 2022 Beijing Games. Meanwhile, O’Dine, hailing from Prince George, British Columbia, secured a bronze in the women’s event and later teamed up with Grondin to clinch bronze in the mixed team event.
Expressing gratitude for his selection, Grondin stated, “I feel privileged to represent Canada at the Olympic Games for the third time in my career. It’s always an honor to wear our national colors on this global stage.”
Liam Moffat, Evan Bichon, Tess Critchlow, and Audrey McManiman will join Grondin and O’Dine in the snowboard cross category.
Elizabeth Hosking will lead the women’s snowboard halfpipe team, accompanied by Brooke D’Hondt and Felicity Geremia, both from Calgary.
