Google has introduced several new features to its AI-based video creation tool, Google Vids. Users can now access custom music generation and AI avatars for videos led by anchors. These additions also include opening up the text-to-video feature to free users, which was previously exclusive to paid subscribers.
Simultaneously, OpenAI has unveiled its Sora video creation platform, and Elon Musk is promoting Grok Imagine, a video generation tool from xAI.
One significant update is that personal Google account holders can now create 8-second videos for free, with a limit of 10 videos per month. They can utilize Google’s latest video generation model, Veo 3.1, to transform their concepts into high-quality videos with a simple prompt.
To enhance video content, Google has introduced Lyria 3 and Lyria 3 Pro models for custom music creation in Google Vids. AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can generate music pieces ranging from 30-second clips to three-minute tracks. However, this feature is not accessible to free users.
Moreover, users now have the option to utilize AI avatars for anchor-led videos. These AI avatars feature a consistent appearance and voice that can be applied across various clips and projects. Users can position them in specific scenarios, where the AI avatars can interact with uploaded objects. The feature also allows users to customize the AI avatars by changing outfits and backgrounds, but it is currently limited to paid Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
Additionally, Google has released new tools to assist users in creating and sharing videos within Google Vids. Users can now access a Screen Recorder Chrome extension for free, enabling them to capture their screen and themselves from any web location. Furthermore, users can directly upload their videos from Google Vids to YouTube, streamlining the process by eliminating the need for rendering and downloading the video.
