Inter Miami CF, the reigning Major League Soccer champions, have officially inked a deal with Canadian goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair for the upcoming season. The agreement, disclosed on Sunday, also includes an option for the 2027 sprint season as MLS transitions to a summer-to-spring schedule.
St. Clair, who claimed the MLS goalkeeper of the year title while playing for Minnesota United last season, topped the league with a remarkable 77.93 save percentage. He achieved personal bests in saves (113) and shutouts (10) during the single season.
The 28-year-old hails from Pickering, Ontario, and bid farewell to Minnesota fans in December after his contract lapsed, with numerous reports linking him to Miami. Last season, Argentina’s Oscar Ustari started 25 regular-season matches for Miami, while American Rocco Rios Novo took charge of the remaining nine games.
St. Clair’s journey in MLS began when he was selected seventh overall by Minnesota in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft from the University of Maryland. Standing at six-foot-three and weighing 193 pounds, he has earned 18 caps representing Canada.
