“Jyoti CNC Shares Plummet Amid Overseas Subsidiary Probe”

Business"Jyoti CNC Shares Plummet Amid Overseas Subsidiary Probe"

Shares of Jyoti CNC Automation faced significant selling pressure on Monday, dropping by 14–16% during the trading day in response to developments concerning its overseas subsidiary. By 11:51 am, the stock had declined by 113.15 points, representing a 13.81% decrease to 706.05 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The sharp decline was triggered by reports indicating that French authorities have launched a judicial investigation into the activities of the company’s subsidiary, Huron Graffenstaden SAS, for suspected violations related to export control regulations. The investigation has introduced a new level of uncertainty regarding the company’s international operations, leading to a substantial sell-off of the stock.

According to a disclosure filed with the stock exchange, the company confirmed that French authorities have initiated a formal judicial inquiry into the subsidiary and certain employees concerning export controls associated with dual-use machinery. The company highlighted that interim measures include imposing restrictions on the subsidiary’s director general, freezing bank accounts valued at approximately EUR 4 million, and seizing certain properties.

Despite these developments, Jyoti CNC reassured investors by stating that the subsidiary has denied the allegations and plans to challenge them. The company emphasized that operations at Huron Graffenstaden are ongoing without disruption, and it does not anticipate a significant impact on its overall business operations.

Moreover, Jyoti CNC pointed out that more than 85% of the group’s revenue is generated by its standalone Indian entity, which mitigates the potential financial repercussions of the subsidiary-related issues. Nonetheless, investors remain concerned not only about the immediate effects but also about the uncertainties surrounding legal proceedings in foreign jurisdictions, which could prolong the resolution process and affect market sentiment.

The recent events have occurred against a backdrop of existing downward pressure on the stock, with a noticeable downward trend in recent weeks. Monday’s developments exacerbated the selling pressure, prompting investors to reassess risks in light of the new information. While global market conditions have been challenging due to geopolitical tensions and higher oil prices, the substantial drop in Jyoti CNC’s stock price appears to be primarily driven by company-specific concerns.

Looking ahead, investors are likely to focus on any further disclosures by the company and seek clarity on the progress of the investigation. Until more information is available, market sentiment towards the stock may remain fragile, with continued volatility anticipated.
