Sports"Mikaël Kingsbury Secures 100th World Cup Victory"

Canadian freestyle skier Mikaël Kingsbury achieved a significant milestone by securing his 100th World Cup victory on Friday evening. Hailing from Deux-Montagnes, Quebec, Kingsbury claimed the top spot in the men’s singles moguls event at the Val St-Come competition with an impressive score of 85.83 points. Expressing his emotions, Kingsbury mentioned, “It’s beyond belief. I am at a loss for words.”

The podium also saw Australia’s Matt Graham clinching the silver with 83.50 points and American Nick Page earning the bronze with 80.96 points. Despite withdrawing from the previous World Cup opener in Ruka, Finland, due to a groin injury sustained during summer training, the 33-year-old Kingsbury showed no signs of struggle during Friday’s competition, celebrating his victory energetically at the finish line.

Reflecting on his achievement, Kingsbury shared with FIS, “What an incredible day. It feels surreal … reaching this 100th win milestone.” As he contemplates his participation in the upcoming dual moguls event on Saturday, Kingsbury remains a key contender for Canada at the Milan Cortina Winter Games, where dual moguls will make its Olympic debut.

Kingsbury’s remarkable career includes a gold medal in moguls at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games, silver in 2014 in Sochi, Russia, and in 2022 at Beijing. With 143 podium finishes and 29 Crystal Globes, Kingsbury’s dominance in freestyle skiing is undisputed.
