Following a series of surgeries and medical complications, DeLargie-Campbell received the heartbreaking news in late November that the tumor, affectionately named “Brian,” was now a permanent fixture in their head. As they embrace the new year, they are focused on making the most of their remaining time by documenting their thoughts and dreams in journals and bucket lists. Friends initiated an online fundraising campaign to support DeLargie-Campbell and their spouse during this challenging period.
Despite facing their mortality with strength and dark humor, DeLargie-Campbell admitted feeling profound sadness upon receiving the diagnosis. DeLargie-Campbell’s Grade 3 meningioma diagnosis, considered rare and aggressive, has presented unique challenges. Dr. Jeffrey Greenspoon, a radiation oncologist, highlighted the severity of Grade 3 meningiomas, emphasizing their life-threatening nature. Symptoms experienced by DeLargie-Campbell, including coordination issues and cognitive difficulties, were initially overlooked until their health deteriorated following a concussion in 2022.
