Tragic Suicide in Telangana Linked to HIV Injection Betrayal

NationalTragic Suicide in Telangana Linked to HIV Injection Betrayal

A 22-year-old woman from Telangana tragically ended her life while recording a video, uttering her final words of despair about living without dignity. In the footage, she accused a distant relative of ruining her life by forcibly injecting her with HIV-infected blood.

The victim, hailing from Medchal-Malkajgiri district near Hyderabad, recounted how the ordeal unfolded after the relative, named Manohar, confessed his love for her. Initially rejecting his advances, she eventually agreed to a relationship with him.

Manohar was apprehended recently on charges of injecting her with HIV-infected blood. The woman disclosed that after Manohar tested positive for HIV during a police constable recruitment medical exam, they ceased contact. However, he reconnected with her, claiming he had lived without treatment for two decades and reassured her of her safety.

In 2025, she divulged their relationship and the HIV issue to her family during her sister’s wedding preparations. Subsequent testing revealed Manohar’s positive status while she tested negative. Her parents cautioned her against marrying him, citing potential ruin to her life.

Following a marriage proposal for her in February, postponed due to a family death, Manohar allegedly visited her and forcibly administered an injection. She confided in a friend on the same day and faced further distress from false rumors circulating about her.

In the poignant video, she admitted delaying medical help post-injection as suicidal thoughts consumed her.
