Céline Dion has released a new single titled “Dansons,” a gentle and romantic French ballad that signifies her return to the music scene. The accompanying music video showcases scenes of love and romance in Paris, with couples dancing freely in public spaces.
The release of this single comes ahead of Dion’s upcoming series of 16 shows at the Paris La Défense Arena from September 12 to October 17. Fans had been speculating about her comeback after mysterious signs featuring lyrics from her popular songs began appearing around Paris.
This latest single, “Dansons,” is a significant milestone for Dion as it is her first French release in over a decade and her first original song in years. The song, written by renowned songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman, follows their successful collaborations in the past, including the best-selling French-language album of all time, “D’eux.”
Dion had to cancel her Courage world tour in 2023 due to health issues related to stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that impacts her singing abilities. Following a period of absence from the stage, Dion made a comeback in July 2024 by performing at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris and later at a fashion show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
