Expressing his disappointment, Ashwin stated, “Last year I spent a disappointing season with CSK. It was emotionally draining, and I didn’t have the capacity to continue playing.” He chose to retire to avoid putting management in a difficult position and to save the team resources.

Ashwin expressed his expectations for the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, noting the strengths of both teams. However, he acknowledged RCB’s dominance in the game and emphasized the need for improvements within CSK.
CSK’s batting lineup has been inconsistent, and their bowling department faltered against RCB, conceding the highest total runs of the season. The team will now have a break before their next match against Delhi Capitals on April 11.
