Anthropic is reportedly developing the upcoming iteration of Claude. Following its impact on SaaS stocks with Claude Cowork, the AI startup now sets its sights on web design, causing concern among design firms.
The forthcoming model from Anthropic, likely named Claude Opus 4.7, will introduce an AI-powered tool for web design and presentations, as per The Information report. This development has led to a slight decline of just over 2% in the stock prices of design-centric companies like Adobe and Figma.
Claude Opus 4.7 is anticipated to serve both technical and non-technical users, enabling the creation of websites, presentations, landing pages, and product prototypes through simple prompts in natural language, eliminating the need for technical expertise. This tool is poised to challenge existing market products, including those from startups like Gamma and Google’s Stitch AI design tool.
The launch of Claude Opus 4.7 may be announced by Anthropic later this week, potentially impacting companies like Figma, Wix, and GoDaddy, which offer website creation and design services. Investors fear that Claude Opus 4.7 could automate web design processes, significantly affecting the business models of these companies.
Furthermore, Adobe, which has seen a decline in its stock value, faces pressure due to the increasing prevalence of AI tools. The CEO, Shantanu Narayen, recently announced his departure after 18 years, citing the need for the company to adapt to a new era of creativity driven by AI technologies.
Notably, Claude Opus 4.7 will not be Anthropic’s most advanced model, as the company unveiled Claude Mythos last week, a highly potent AI system restricted to select firms like Amazon and Microsoft to enhance global cybersecurity.
While Opus 4.7 is expected to surpass the capabilities of Claude Opus 4.6, Anthropic’s most advanced public AI model, it is not as powerful as the exclusive Claude Mythos release.
