Get prepared for another wave of eliminations as the popular reality show “Big Brother Canada” is set to return for its third season, set to premiere on CTV and Crave. Production for the reality competition will kick off in Montreal next spring, with more details on casting to be revealed later, as announced by Bell Media during their recent upfront presentations in Toronto.

In addition to the Canadian version, the network will also broadcast the well-established U.S. edition of “Big Brother” starting in the summer of 2027. Inspired by George Orwell’s iconic novel “Nineteen Eighty-Four,” the show brings together a group of participants, known as houseguests, who reside in a specially designed house under constant surveillance, disconnected from the outside world, and vying for cash prizes.

Contestants must navigate interpersonal conflicts and evolving relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and beliefs, all while striving to avoid eviction and elimination from the game. Andrea Bain, a lifestyle host and entertainment journalist currently co-hosting CTV’s “The Social,” has been chosen to host the Canadian revival, expressing her excitement on social media about this new opportunity.

Bell Media’s agreement includes access to the show’s previous 12 seasons for fans to binge-watch on Crave, alongside the French-language version “Big Brother Célébrités.” Since its inception in the late 1990s in the Netherlands, “Big Brother” has been adapted in numerous countries worldwide, achieving success in various markets.

The Canadian version initially aired on Slice in 2013 before transitioning to the main network Global in 2015, with Arisa Cox hosting the show. The series faced hiatus after its fifth season but was renewed for a sixth season due to overwhelming fan support. Another outcry followed when Global announced the cancellation in June 2024, leading to a statement from Justin Stockman, Bell Media’s vice-president of global content, affirming the commitment to provide Canadian viewers with more engaging and unforgettable competitive gameplay experiences.
