In Telangana’s Karimnagar district, a man allegedly poisoned and drowned his four-year-old twin daughters in a well on Friday due to his disappointment over having girls. The accused, identified as Kachhu Srisailam, a private employee who had been married for six years, had twin daughters named Geethanshi and Geethanvika, both four years old.
Srisailam had ongoing conflicts with his wife following the birth of their twin daughters as he desired a son. Despite previous attempts by family members to mediate the disputes, Srisailam remained dissatisfied with having daughters.
The tragic incident unfolded when Srisailam engaged in another argument with his wife on Friday regarding the same issue. Subsequently, he allegedly coerced his twin daughters to ingest pesticide before throwing them into a well, resulting in their tragic deaths by drowning.
Following the incident, local residents apprehended Srisailam, subjected him to physical assault, and handed him over to the authorities. While one of the children’s bodies was retrieved from the well, efforts are ongoing to locate the second girl. The case is under investigation by Karimnagar Rural Circle Inspector A Niranjan Reddy.
