The nominations for the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards were announced today, with HBO leading the pack with its show “The Pitt.” The medical drama starring Noah Wyle received 25 nominations, while HBO’s “Hacks” followed closely with 24 nods. “Hacks” set a new record for the most Emmy nominations for a comedy series in its final season, surpassing the previous record of 18 held by “Schitt’s Creek.”

Apple TV also saw success with its series. The dark comedy “Widow’s Bay” received 19 nominations, and the post-apocalyptic show “Pluribus” garnered 16 nominations. “Heated Rivalry,” which airs in Canada on Crave like “The Pitt” and “Hacks,” did not receive any Emmy nominations due to the foreign production requirements of the Primetime Emmys. However, Connor Storrie, a co-lead on the show, received a nomination for his appearance on “Saturday Night Live.”

The nominations were presented by previous Emmy winners Liza Colón-Zayas and Jeff Hiller at the Wolf Theatre in Los Angeles. The awards ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay from “Law & Order: SVU,” is set for September 14. This year, the Emmys will introduce a new “legacy award” to honor programs that have had a significant and lasting impact on audiences, society, culture, and the industry.

The nominees for various categories include series like “The Diplomat,” “The Gilded Age,” “Abbott Elementary,” “The Bear,” “Euphoria,” and many others. For the full list of nominations across all categories, you can visit the Emmys website.
