Iran’s diplomatic missions in Pakistan and South Africa issued strong responses to the mother of one of the American F-15 pilots whose planes were shot down over Iran. They cautioned that her sons faced greater risks under President Donald Trump’s administration than in Iranian custody. The Iranian embassies emphasized Iran’s treatment of captives, stating that they understand how to treat captives with respect and dignity.
The Iranian Embassy in Pakistan stated, “Your sons are safer in Iran than under DJ Trump. We treat captives with respect, unlike your allies, the Zionists.” The Embassy in South Africa added, “In Iran, we have defined the rights of prisoners of war long before humanitarian laws were established. We do not treat POWs in a savage manner like your allies.”
These statements came in response to a social media post by the mother of one of the missing pilots, requesting prayers for the F-15 fighter jet pilots who were shot down during a combat mission. The post expressed concern for the safety of the pilots and requested prayers for their well-being.
Iran downed two US military aircraft on Friday, with one crew member rescued and another still missing, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Additionally, Iranian state media reported a US A-10 attack aircraft crashing in the Persian Gulf after an encounter with Iranian defense forces, although the cause of the crash was uncertain.
Footage on social media showed American drones, aircraft, and helicopters searching the mountainous region where Iranian media reported at least one pilot had ejected from the fighter jet. These incidents occurred concurrently with Iran’s targeting of locations across the Middle East, leading to heightened tensions with Israel and Gulf Arab nations. Reports of sirens in Bahrain, the destruction of Iranian drones by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and incoming missiles in Israel further exacerbated the situation.
The developments underscore the escalating tensions in the region and the complex dynamics at play in the ongoing conflict.
