A lawyer was fatally shot during daylight hours in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, as captured by CCTV footage revealing the assailants struggling momentarily to flee due to a motorcycle malfunction post the attack. The incident unfolded in the Katwaru Ka Pura area, with the victim identified as advocate Rajeev Singh.
The unfortunate event transpired while Singh was on his regular morning walk, encountering an assailant on a motorcycle who approached and shot him at close range using a locally-made firearm. The lawyer succumbed on the spot, following the gunfire.
Footage from the CCTV system has emerged, providing a detailed account of the assault. The video displays the attacker waiting, then advancing to shoot at close range, while an associate remained on the motorcycle. Subsequently, the assailant hurried back to the bike, experiencing a brief delay as it initially failed to start, leading to a momentary escape setback. Local residents gathered at the scene, but were intimidated by the armed accused. Eventually, the motorcycle started, enabling the perpetrators to flee.
