French freestyle skier Tess Ledeux, an Olympic big air medalist, has decided to withdraw from the upcoming Milano Cortina Winter Games due to ongoing recovery from a concussion. Ledeux, who finished second at the Beijing Olympics in 2018 behind Eileen Gu, has been sidelined since a crash during a World Cup event in March last year.
The former world champion expressed that she will sit out the entire season to prioritize her recovery. Ledeux shared her difficult decision in a recent social media post, acknowledging the challenging process of coming to terms with the situation. Initially hopeful for a quick recovery, she faced lingering symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, and dizziness, leading her to understand the complexity of both physical and mental injuries.
Despite exploring various options to make a comeback for her third Olympic appearance, the 24-year-old athlete emphasized the importance of prioritizing her well-being. Looking ahead, Ledeux remains determined to overcome this setback and has set her sights on competing in the 2030 Olympics hosted in France.
