A wedding celebration took a violent turn in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, as villagers attacked the groom’s family for refusing to provide money for alcohol. The incident unfolded on March 30, following Mahesh Jatav’s wedding. Upon the bride’s arrival at her new home, villagers demanded money to purchase alcohol. When their request was turned down, the enraged mob verbally abused and physically assaulted the bride, her family, and guests present.
The bride’s mother was among the injured parties, and she lodged a formal complaint with the local authorities. Members of the groom’s family also suffered injuries during the altercation. The attackers reportedly stole cash and other items from the premises. Subsequently, tensions mounted between the two groups, prompting some guests to intervene and mediate the situation.
Those injured were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for necessary medical attention. Both sides have lodged complaints with the police, who have initiated an investigation into the matter, ensuring action against the perpetrators. The affected families and the community are now awaiting the legal process to bring about resolution and recovery from the disturbing incident.
