“Godman’s Scandal Exposes Abuse: Victims Speak Out”

National"Godman's Scandal Exposes Abuse: Victims Speak Out"

In a disturbing revelation, the case of Ashok Kharat, a godman from Nashik, has brought to light allegations of sexual abuse, rape, and other criminal activities. Kharat is accused of exploiting women under the guise of religious practices, with over 50 complaints filed in just five days, including reports of sexual assault and extortion.

The victims’ silence can be attributed to the manipulation tactics employed by such godmen, where blind faith and superstition give them unchecked power over their followers’ minds and actions. Neeru, a victim who was sent to Kharat by her parents, shared her unsettling encounter where the baba sexually assaulted a woman in front of her, leaving her in shock and fear.

Similarly, Deepika recounted her traumatic experience with a man claiming to be a disciple of a godman, who molested her during a supposed healing session. These instances highlight the dangerous trust and vulnerability that these self-proclaimed spiritual leaders exploit for their own gains.

Despite the arrest of Kharat, many such fraudulent babas continue to operate freely, preying on unsuspecting individuals. Neeru and Deepika’s stories serve as a reminder of the urgent need to question and hold accountable these manipulative individuals who hide behind a façade of spirituality. The cycle of abuse will persist until followers break free from blind devotion and demand justice for the victims.
