The Aam Aadmi Party has launched a strong criticism against one of its own members, Raghav Chadha, with party officials sharing videos denouncing the Punjab MP. Until recently, Chadha, a former close associate of Arvind Kejriwal, was known for advocating for common people’s issues in the Rajya Sabha before being removed as the party’s deputy leader due to alleged failure to address significant concerns.
Chadha now finds himself under intense scrutiny from his party colleagues, who accuse him of hesitating to criticize Prime Minister Modi and not aligning with the party’s stance. The backlash intensified after Chadha, following his demotion in the Rajya Sabha, claimed that the decision aimed to silence him.
In a video statement, Chadha expressed his dismay over the party’s request to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat to prevent him from speaking on behalf of the AAP, questioning the suppression of his voice despite advocating for public interests. He emphasized that his discussions were beneficial to the public and questioned why they were perceived as upsetting to the party.
Subsequently, Chadha removed any mention of AAP from his bio, raising speculation about a possible departure from the party. As AAP leaders continued their critique of Chadha, BJP members commended his parliamentary speeches and commended him for addressing pertinent issues.
The rift between AAP leaders and Chadha escalated into a public confrontation, with accusations of Chadha’s reluctance to challenge PM Modi and his focus on trivial matters instead of national concerns. Party officials highlighted instances where Chadha allegedly failed to support the party’s positions and remained absent during crucial events.
Despite the mounting criticism, Chadha’s future political alignment remains uncertain, with speculations suggesting a potential shift towards the BJP. However, AAP’s Ashok Mittal dismissed such rumors, emphasizing Chadha’s resilience amidst the ongoing challenges within the party.
