Riniki Bhuyan Sarma criticized the Congress party for accusing Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife of possessing multiple passports. She dismissed the allegations as false and AI-generated, stating that the party members were behaving erratically. Riniki also refuted claims of owning a Dubai property, a Wyoming-based company, and assets worth Rs 52,000 crore, labeling them baseless and already proven false.
Addressing the accusations of holding multiple passports, Riniki emphasized that she only holds one passport as an Indian citizen under the name “Sharma.” In an interview with Lallantop, she likened the Congress party’s actions to those of a rabid dog, running aimlessly with fabricated claims. Riniki highlighted that the allegations were unfounded and AI-generated, expressing her anticipation for justice after filing an FIR.
Congress leader Pawan Khera recently alleged that Riniki possesses undisclosed assets abroad and multiple foreign passports, which emerged during the 2026 Assam Assembly Election campaign. Khera claimed Riniki owns a US-based company valued at approximately $34.67 billion (Rs 52,000 crore) and two undisclosed properties in Dubai. Additionally, Khera accused Riniki of holding passports from the UAE, Egypt, and Antigua and Barbuda, contradicting India’s single citizenship laws.
Following Riniki’s FIR against Khera for conspiracy and fraud related to the passport claims, a joint team of Assam Police and Delhi Police searched Khera’s residence in Nizamuddin. Although Khera was not present during the search, incriminating materials were reportedly seized. Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister remarked on Khera’s absence, suggesting he had left for Hyderabad.
