Canadian Screen Awards week has officially begun with the announcement of the Children’s Television Awards winners in Toronto. The first of six ceremonies revealed the recipients of 16 awards.
Josette Jorge won the Canadian Screen Award for Best supporting performer, children’s or youth for her role in “The Unstoppable Jenny Garcia.” Will Arnett clinched the Best voice performance award for “Super Team Canada.”
Other winners include “Toopy and Binoo Fabulous Adventures” for Best writing, pre-school, “Thomas & Friends: The Christmas Letter Express” for Best original music, animation, and “Old Enough! – Where’s The Ginger, Please?” for Best picture editing, children’s or youth.
Katie Boland received the Best direction, children’s or youth award for “Macy Murdoch — Tick, Tick, Gone.” “Unicorn Academy — Winter Solstice” won Best sound, animation, while “Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum — I am Jackie Robinson” was recognized for Best writing, animation and Best direction, animation.
The Canada Media Fund kids’ choice award went to “Mittens & Pants.” “Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood” was honored as the Best pre-school program or series, and “Odd Squad” received awards for Best lead performer, children’s or youth and Best children’s or youth fiction program or series.
Additionally, “Super Team Canada” bagged the Best animated program or series award.
