A legal dispute involving Bollywood star Salman Khan and Rajshree Pan Masala has encountered a procedural obstacle as the Forensic Science Laboratory in Jaipur returned critical documents due to technical deficiencies. This situation has hindered the forensic examination of Salman Khan’s signatures in their current state.
The District Consumer Court in Kota, Rajasthan, overseeing a complaint against Rajshree Pan Masala regarding allegedly deceptive advertisements featuring Khan, has instructed that the deficiencies in the documents must be addressed before resubmission to the state forensic lab. The next court session is set for April 21.
The Forensic Science Laboratory declined to proceed with the signature verification on the documents received from the court on April 8, citing that they did not meet the required scientific examination standards.
Rakesh Suwalka, the legal representative for Rajshree Pan Masala, informed the court that the existing documents were unsuitable for forensic analysis. Consequently, the Kota court mandated necessary corrections to be made before resubmitting the documents.
Advocate Shivanshu Naval represented the Bollywood actor in court, while complainant Indramohan Singh Honey presented an affidavit during the legal proceedings. Honey expressed belief that the court’s recent decision would aid in confirming the legitimacy of the disputed documents.
The controversy surrounding the signatures commenced on December 26, 2025, when Honey raised concerns about the authenticity of the signatures on the submitted documents, prompting a call for their examination. Following this, the District Consumer Court ordered a scientific assessment of the signatures and required the concerned party to appear in person and provide a sworn affidavit.
Subsequently, the order was contested before the State Consumer Commission in Jaipur, which initially halted the examination process. However, following deliberations from both sides, the Commission recently lifted the stay and upheld the lower court’s directive.
The case revolves around allegations of deceptive advertising by Rajshree Pan Masala, featuring Salman Khan. Honey, a senior BJP leader and advocate at the Rajasthan High Court, questioned the credibility of the advertising assertions and the potential influence such endorsements could have on younger audiences.
