Three individuals were apprehended on Saturday following the seizure of heroin worth Rs 2.10 crore concealed in 30 soap cases by the Assam Rifles during an intelligence-led operation in Meharpur, Assam. Suspicious activity was observed by the Assam Rifles and police during the operation, leading them to monitor a vehicle that tried to avoid interception. A brief pursuit ensued before the combined team successfully stopped the vehicle. Upon inspecting the vehicle, security personnel discovered the 30 soap cases containing approximately 349 grams of heroin. The confiscated illegal substance is estimated to be valued at around Rs 2.10 crore. The individuals linked to the heroin recovery were apprehended. The suspects and the seized narcotics have been handed over to the police for further investigation. Officials hailed the operation as a significant achievement in the ongoing campaign to combat drug trafficking in the area.
