After dropping several mysterious hints, such as an enormous pile of ice blocks in downtown Toronto and a CN Tower takeover, Drake has finally released his highly anticipated ninth studio album, called “Iceman,” along with two surprise albums titled “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour.” The surprise albums were unveiled during Drake’s recent livestream event, “Iceman Episode 4,” where he shared a total of 43 songs, amounting to approximately two and a half hours, with “Iceman” serving as the focal point.

Drake has been hinting at “Iceman” for quite some time, first mentioning it back in August 2024 following his widely publicized rap battle with Kendrick Lamar. While touring Australia in 2025, Drake informed fans that the album would be like a personal dialogue that they needed to hear.

Prior to these releases, Drake’s last solo albums were in 2023 with “For all the Dogs,” with his most recent collaborative effort being the joint album “Some Sexy Songs 4 U” with PartyNextDoor in 2025. With his reputation as a prominent figure in rap music and his pursuit of surpassing Michael Jackson’s record of No. 1 songs, expectations are high for Drake to deliver.

The album “Iceman” delves into Drake’s feud with Kendrick Lamar right from the start with the track “Make Them Cry,” where he reflects on the aftermath of losing the feud and its consequences. Throughout the three albums, “Iceman” stands out as the platform for Drake to address the past events and take new shots at various individuals, including Lamar, DJ Khaled, A$AP Rocky, DeMmar DeRozan, LeBron James, and Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge.

The visuals for many of the songs from “Iceman” showcase Toronto landmarks, with scenes shot at various locations like Yorkville restaurant Sotto Sotto and the CN Tower. The music videos feature Drake in different settings, including inside the CN Tower and even at Mayor Olivia Chow’s office in Toronto City Hall.

Moreover, the album incorporates Canadian symbols and references, with Drake sporting a fur jacket adorned with logos of Canadian brands in the “Slap the City” music video. Canadian-themed lyrics are also present throughout the album, emphasizing Drake’s connection to his Canadian roots.

In addition to “Iceman,” Drake surprised fans with the albums “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour,” offering diverse musical styles and themes. “Habibti” explores love songs from a unique perspective, while “Maid of Honour” delves into dancehall, house, Afro-swing, and U.K. rap genres, catering to a party atmosphere.

Overall, Drake’s triple album release has something for every listener, serving a mix of personal reflections, musical experimentation, and energetic party tracks.
