A food service van collided with a stationary IndiGo aircraft at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport on Tuesday, causing minor damage to the plane. The incident occurred at Bay No. 51 of the airport, where the van unexpectedly moved forward upon starting, leading to the collision with the aircraft’s engine.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported immediately following the mishap. IndiGo issued a statement acknowledging the incident, stating that a third-party unmanned vehicle on the apron had collided with their parked aircraft. The airline informed the relevant authorities about the incident and grounded the affected plane for inspections and necessary maintenance before resuming operations.

IndiGo assured that they would collaborate closely with authorities to investigate the collision. The aircraft involved was intended for a domestic flight from Kolkata to Guwahati, designated as flight 6E 6663. An alternate aircraft was arranged to operate the scheduled flight in place of the grounded aircraft.
