A violent altercation erupted in Indore’s Aerodrome area due to a disagreement over car parking, resulting in a gym operator being attacked with a sword, causing panic in the neighborhood. The incident, captured on video, shows a neighbor assaulting gym operator Ashu Vyas with a sword on 60 Feet Road, leading to chaos in the vicinity.
Despite sustaining injuries, Vyas managed to block the sword with his hand, saving his life, before locals intervened to bring the situation under control. The video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, prompting the police to launch an investigation based on the footage, although no formal complaint has been lodged yet according to the station in-charge.
The perpetrator, identified as Rakesh Khandelwal, who is the cousin of BJP leader Kamlesh Khandelwal, allegedly carried out the attack following a parking dispute with neighbors. Prompt intervention by locals prevented a more serious outcome, despite alleged pressure from influential figures to resolve the matter outside of legal channels when Vyas approached the police station. Subsequently, a compromise was reportedly reached between the involved parties at the police station on Monday evening.
However, with the emergence of the video evidence depicting the use of a dangerous weapon, the police have affirmed their commitment to a thorough investigation to uphold law and order in the area.
