“Jesse Minter Named Baltimore Ravens’ New Head Coach”

Sports"Jesse Minter Named Baltimore Ravens' New Head Coach"

Jesse Minter has been appointed as the new head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, returning to the team where he previously served under John Harbaugh. Minter, who most recently worked as the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers, steps into the role after Harbaugh’s departure following an 18-year tenure that ended when the Ravens missed the playoffs.

During his time with the Ravens from 2017 to 2020, Minter progressed from a defensive assistant to eventually becoming the defensive backs coach before moving on to Vanderbilt as the defensive coordinator. The 42-year-old was sought after by multiple teams and ultimately landed in Baltimore, where his primary focus will be on guiding star quarterback Lamar Jackson to further success, especially in postseason play.

Ravens’ general manager Eric DeCosta expressed confidence in Minter’s leadership qualities and extensive football experience, emphasizing his strong football background and suitability to lead the team into the future. Minter’s successful stints with both the Chargers and the University of Michigan, as well as his previous ties with the Ravens organization, positioned him as the ideal candidate to take over as the Ravens’ fourth head coach in their history.

In a challenging 2025 season marked by a slow start and significant injuries, including setbacks to key players like Jackson and Nnamdi Madubuike, the Ravens fought back to contend for the AFC North title in a crucial Week 18 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, only to fall short in the final moments.

Meanwhile, in another coaching move, the Tennessee Titans have brought in Robert Saleh as their new head coach, signing him to a five-year contract. Saleh, previously with the New York Jets and most recently the San Francisco 49ers as defensive coordinator, faces the task of revitalizing a Titans team that has struggled in recent seasons with consecutive 3-14 records.

Titans’ general manager Mike Borgonzi highlighted Saleh’s qualities as a leader and his ability to overcome challenges, expressing confidence in Saleh’s potential to reshape the team and instill a culture of sustained success. Saleh’s coaching experience, including his tenure with the Jets and his return to San Francisco, sets the stage for his new role with the Titans, where he will work with young quarterback Cam Ward, the top pick in the 2025 draft, to navigate the team through its rebuilding phase.
