Athias shared his experience of being enveloped in grass, mentioning the challenges of grass bits ending up in unexpected places like his nose and ears but overall finding the costume comfortable.
Athias humorously recounted his journey to landing the grass role, clarifying that it wasn’t a direct call from Bad Bunny but rather an open casting call that led him to the opportunity. The casting process was brief, requiring specific height measurements and photos without revealing the nature of the role until later rehearsals.
Despite facing travel delays due to a snowstorm, Athias made it to California for rehearsals, signing a non-disclosure agreement to keep the performance under wraps. The secrecy extended to rehearsals, where a stand-in for Bad Bunny was dubbed “Good Rabbit.”
During the rehearsals, Athias was stationed next to the pink house, La Casita, where celebrity guests emerged from. Despite the secrecy and long hours of rehearsals, the compensation was modest, but Athias expressed gratitude for being part of such a significant moment in Bad Bunny’s career and Puerto Rico’s representation on a global stage.
Reflecting on the experience, Athias likened his newfound fame to the iconic “left shark” from a past Super Bowl show, emphasizing his pride in contributing to Bad Bunny’s vision of showcasing Puerto Rico to the world.
