Leaks suggest that the battery configuration in the new model may not see significant changes, as it is likely to retain a split battery setup similar to the current version. The Galaxy Z Flip7 boasts a 4,300mAh battery, and speculations indicate that Samsung may maintain the same capacity for the Flip8. Moreover, the charging speed is expected to stay at 25W, matching both the Flip7 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 from 2022.
Recent reports indicate that Samsung is exploring a shift from traditional graphite-based lithium-ion cells to silicon-carbon battery technology. This transition is anticipated to make its debut in the upcoming flagship Galaxy S27 series, set for release next year. Samsung SDI is reportedly testing high-capacity silicon-carbon batteries, including prototypes with capacities of 12,000mAh, 18,000mAh, and 20,000mAh. However, these advancements are unlikely to impact the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 expected for this year.
The anticipated specifications and features of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 include a continuation of the current display setup, featuring a Dynamic AMOLED 2x panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The inner display size is expected to remain around 6.9 inches, while the cover screen may retain the edge-to-edge 4.1-inch design introduced with the Galaxy Z Flip7.
