An individual associated with terrorism was fatally shot during an overnight confrontation in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, as confirmed by the Army on Wednesday. Security forces initiated a cordon and search operation in the Arhama area of Gandebal district on Tuesday night after receiving reports of suspicious activities in the vicinity. Acting on specific intelligence, a joint search operation was conducted by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in the general area of Arhama in Ganderbal, as stated by the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps in a communication. “Vigilant troops noticed suspicious behavior during the search operation. When challenged, the terrorists resorted to firing, prompting our troops to retaliate,” cited the Army. Despite intermittent firing, the cordon was strategically readjusted, and the troops responded effectively with a measured approach, resulting in the neutralization of one terrorist. Officials have confirmed that the anti-terror operation is currently ongoing.
