In Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a disturbing incident came to light on Friday when the remains of a 34-year-old woman named Priyanka were discovered in her residence approximately four months after her passing. The body was in an advanced stage of decay, almost completely skeletonized.
Priyanka resided with her father, Uday Bhan Biswas. Relatives disclosed that the house had been locked for about four months, and both father and daughter had been absent from the neighborhood during this time. After relentless attempts to locate him, family members eventually found Uday Bhan at a tea stall in Begum Bagh.
Initially, when questioned, he stated that Priyanka had been hospitalized in Dehradun due to health issues. However, under further scrutiny by relatives, he reportedly confessed to her demise and the presence of her remains inside the house.
Upon being notified, the authorities intervened, breaking the lock to gain entry into the residence where Priyanka’s skeletal remains were found. Family members described the house as cluttered with old documents and debris, with the father allegedly admitting to using perfume to mask the odor. Allegations were also made that he remained indoors with the body for several days following her passing.
Neighbors mentioned minimal interactions with the family but were aware of Priyanka’s illness and her father regularly escorting her for treatment in a rickshaw. They noted the absence of both individuals for the past four months.
Priyanka’s cousin, Biswajit Biswas, revealed that she had been battling sickness for an extended period and receiving treatment for mental health concerns. The family asserted that Priyanka’s mother had passed away in a similar manner in 2013, leading to the father and daughter living in seclusion and distress.
Authorities confirmed that the case is under investigation, with further updates to be provided based on evidence-based discoveries.
