Phonemakers are emphasizing camera performance in their flagship phones. Oppo has announced the imminent launch of its premium Find X9 Ultra in India, touting professional photography capabilities. This device will vie with other ‘Ultra’ models like Xiaomi 17 Ultra and the upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra.
Oppo disclosed that the Find X9 Ultra will debut alongside the Find X9s in India next month, expanding the Find X9 series to four devices in the country. These include the Find X9, Find X9 Pro, Find X9 Ultra, and the Find X9s, the latter positioned below the standard Find X9.
The Oppo Find X9 Ultra showcases a distinct design compared to its series counterparts. Featuring a large circular camera setup with four cameras and Hasselblad branding, the back of the phone stands out. Varying in thickness based on the color variant, the device boasts IP66/IP68/IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
The photography-centric approach continues with the Find X9 Ultra’s quad-camera system in collaboration with Hasselblad. The setup includes a 200-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 200-megapixel telephoto lens, a 50-megapixel ultra-telephoto camera with impressive zoom capabilities, and a dedicated color reproduction lens. Additionally, a 50-megapixel front camera enhances the selfie experience.
Specs-wise, the Find X9 Ultra boasts a 6.82-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It offers LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, and runs on Android 16-based ColorOS16. The device packs a substantial 7,050mAh battery with rapid 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
Regarding pricing, Oppo is yet to unveil the cost of the Find X9 Ultra, expected to be premium. Comparatively, similar devices like Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra start at Rs 1,39,999 in India.
Moving to the Find X9s, designed for those seeking a high-end device at a more accessible price point, it mirrors the vanilla Find X9 design with a square camera module. Featuring a glass back and aluminum frame, the Find X9s houses a triple rear camera setup, including three 50-megapixel sensors and a 32-megapixel front camera. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, it offers LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 7,025mAh battery supporting 80W fast charging.
Pricing details for the Find X9s are yet to be disclosed but are expected to be below the starting price of the standard Find X9 at Rs 74,999.
