Sharing personal photos with Bhosle, Modi emphasized that her musical legacy would continue to inspire future generations.
Bhosle breathed her last on April 12 at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital due to multiple organ failure, as confirmed by a hospital spokesperson. The news of her demise triggered an outpouring of tributes from leaders across the political spectrum, acknowledging her as a legendary voice of India.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his grief, noting Bhosle’s profound impact on millions of people with her melodious tunes. He hailed her as a musical maestro who transcended genres and languages, leaving an indelible mark on Indian music. Shah lauded her ability to touch hearts across various regional languages and folk genres.
Shah further extended his condolences, stating that every music lover in India would mourn the loss of the iconic singer.
Apart from PM Modi and Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also paid their respects to Asha Bhosle following her demise.
