A mother in Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj district has lodged a criminal complaint against her son for allegedly sexually assaulting his cousin, leading to a pregnancy, as per authorities on Tuesday. The incident took place in a village under Bhitauli Police Station’s jurisdiction. The victim had been residing at her maternal aunt’s house since childhood after losing her mother.
The young girl was under her aunt’s care due to her father’s alleged vices and her mother’s absence. The accused is said to have deceived the girl into a physical relationship, which was only discovered when she found out about her pregnancy and confided in her aunt.
Upon learning about the situation, the accused’s mother, who is also the victim’s aunt, reported the matter to the police to seek justice for her niece against her own son. A police official stated that a case has been filed against the accused based on the complaint, and efforts are underway to apprehend him as he is currently evading authorities.
