“Stellantis Recalls 1.3M Jeeps Over Fire Risk”

Business"Stellantis Recalls 1.3M Jeeps Over Fire Risk"

Stellantis announced a recall of over 1.3 million Jeep SUVs and trucks globally due to fire risks, advising owners to park in safe locations until repairs are done. The recall affects Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator models from 2021 to 2025, addressing an electrical issue in the power steering pump wiring that could potentially cause overheating and ignite combustible materials. Approximately 1.08 million vehicles in the U.S., 106,000 in Canada, 23,000 in Mexico, and 125,000 in other regions are included in the recall. Stellantis will inspect and potentially replace the wiring harness or steering pump to mitigate the problem, aiming to complete the fix by July. While one injury related to the issue has been reported, there have been no accidents or fatalities associated with it.
