This new website consolidates all income tax-related information into a single accessible platform. It is designed to streamline the process, improve user experience, and alleviate the confusion often associated with tax forms and regulations.
In a recent announcement on X, the Income Tax Department stated, “The New Income Tax website is here, offering a simplified and quicker navigation experience. Access all income tax information in one place. Meet Kar Saathi, your AI companion to facilitate your Direct Tax-related tasks.”
Kar Saathi serves as a digital assistant integrated into the new website, providing guidance, answering queries, and simplifying tasks such as tax return filing and understanding tax laws. The goal is to reduce the complexity of tax compliance, particularly for individuals unfamiliar with technical tax terminology or online systems.
The launch of this platform coincides with a significant change in India’s tax regime. As of April 1, 2026, the new Income-tax Act, 2025 has been implemented. This marks a shift towards a more straightforward, transparent, and user-friendly direct tax framework, as highlighted by the Income Tax Department on X.
