“Panasonic Toaster Oven Recall: Electric Shock Risk”

Business"Panasonic Toaster Oven Recall: Electric Shock Risk"

A safety alert has been issued for Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Ovens in the United States and Canada due to a potential electric shock risk. The recall pertains to Flashxpress toaster ovens bearing model numbers NB-G205S and NB-G200SVA, which can be located on the product label at the back of the device. The concern lies with the power cord of the toaster oven.

Panasonic has stated that the insulation on the power cord may be inadequate, as a protective fiberglass sleeve might not completely cover the cord, leading to a possible danger of electric shock or fire. In response, Panasonic, Health Canada, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have advised consumers to cease using the impacted toaster ovens immediately and return them to the manufacturer for a refund.

For more information, consumers can access Panasonic’s recall site or contact Panasonic Canada at 1-888-422-6296. Panasonic has disclosed that approximately 2,184 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and around 11,500 in the U.S. from November 2025 to March 2026.

As per Health Canada’s update on June 15, no injuries related to the power cord issue have been reported in Canada. In the U.S., Panasonic has received five reports of circuit breakers tripping in connection to the toaster ovens, but no injuries have been documented.
